How HIV is spread:
- By having vaginal, anal or oral sex with an infected person
- By sharing needles or syringes with an infected person
- From an infected mother to her baby during pregnancy, birth or breast-feeding
Body fluids of an infected person that spread HIV:
- Semen
- Vaginal fluids
- Blood
- Breast milk
Stopping the spread of HIV:
- If people have sex, using latex condoms the right way every time greatly reduces the risk of HIV infection and STDs.
